Practical Guide
Dreamlens brings together a calculated sky, symbolic systems, personal context and conversation. This guide follows complete journeys: from a question or observation to a result you can discuss, save and revisit. For a two-minute introduction, use Quick Start.
Choose your journey
- Observe the day
- Explore one question with three oracles
- Work with a saved profile
- Compare two people
- Turn a moment into an artifact
- Revisit your collection
- Learn by comparing methods
- Use Dreamlens in your usual AI chat
Before generating an image, read settings and costs. For ideas for a demonstration, see three short stories.
Understand the five objects
| Object | What it keeps |
|---|---|
| Account | Access, preferences and your saved collection |
| Saved profile | A person's name and birth data; you can keep several profiles |
| Chat session | A conversation; a long saved history does not mean every message fits in the model's current context |
| Reading | Specific cards, runes or lines, their order, orientations and question |
| Artifact | A saved image, its source and its own symbolic identity |
Selecting a person, continuing a conversation and saving an artifact are different actions. Changing the active profile does not rewrite an old reading or turn an existing artifact into a new object.
Map of the product
| Area | Where to start and what to look for |
|---|---|
| Personal astrology | Natal chart, transits, returns and synastry: positions, houses, aspects and comparisons |
| The sky and calendars | Moon, planets, events and hypothetical objects: a chosen moment and place |
| Human Design | Bodygraph: type, strategy, authority, profile, centers, channels, gates and transits |
| Oracles | Tarot, runes, I-Ching: a question and a structured symbolic result |
| Discussion | Chat and the Insight action on supported pages |
| Images and collection | PNG export and artifacts |
The lunar layer brings together Western factors, Jyotish, Chinese cycles and lunar mansions, and Arabic mansions. These calendar features do not imply that every natal technique of each tradition is available. Likewise, hypothetical points are symbolic calculation objects. See the relevant help articles for the scope of each page.
Calculated coordinates and symbolic interpretation have different roles. A model explains the data; choosing another model does not change the ephemeris. Astrology, oracles and Human Design can support reflection, but a symbolic score is not a measured probability of an event. See accuracy, time and place.
1. Observe the day
- Choose a moment, place and timezone. For a first visit, you do not need someone's birth data.
- Open Moon or Planets. Read the phase, Moon position and a few aspects before requesting an interpretation.
- If you want a personal layer, select the person and open their transits. Keep the general sky distinct from contacts to their natal chart.
- If you already have a daily card or rune, reuse that result and its orientation instead of drawing again.
- Ask for one useful focus and a question you can explore today.
Try: “Separate the calculated facts, a symbolic reading and a question for reflection. Use this moment and the card I already have. Finish with one small action within my control.”
Keep the moment explicit when comparing pages or tools: a date without a time can mean different things in different calculations. Insight and the built-in chat can use the model budget. More: Moon, events.
2. Explore one question with three oracles
Start with one question, such as “What am I overlooking as I choose a format for a creative project?” Pick a form that suits the question, rather than collecting as many symbols as possible.
- Tarot: keep the spread, position meanings, cards and upright/reversed orientations. One Card, Three Card, Past Present Future and Daily are different formats; use the positions actually shown. Changing the deck changes the artwork, not the identity of a card already drawn.
- Runes: keep the alphabet, order and orientations. A mirrored rune and an inverted rune are not interchangeable. If you assign your own position meanings, say so.
- I-Ching: keep the method, original hexagram, changing lines and related hexagram. Read the change between the two figures, not just their titles.
Discuss each result separately, then compare recurring themes and disagreements. Agreement between symbolic systems is not independent proof of a future event.
Try: “Use these exact cards, runes and lines. Show two shared themes and one meaningful disagreement. Do not draw again. Suggest an observation I can make in real life.”
Chat history, divination history and artifacts store different things, and availability differs by channel. Do not rely on reopening every reading from every client. Record its complete structure before continuing; regeneration can run the request again. More: Tarot, runes, I-Ching.
3. Work with a saved profile
- Select the exact saved name on Profile or in Settings → Profiles.
- Check birth date, local time, place and historical timezone. Current location is a separate setting. A noon placeholder does not make an unknown birth time accurate.
- Start with the natal chart and chosen house system. Then open transits for a specific moment or a supported return.
- Continue through Insight or chat, keeping the person and calculation parameters clear.
Try: “Use the selected profile. Separate lasting natal themes from transits for this moment. If the birth time is uncertain, identify which parts of the reading are sensitive to it.”
The active profile supplies the default personal context. A named lookup in an external agent can read a different profile without activating it. Saved profiles and groups are useful for keeping several people distinct; before saving or exporting, check the name shown. More: profiles.
4. Compare two people
Open Synastry, choose A and B and check both sets of birth data. Start with interplanetary aspects; identify whose planet is on each side. With reliable birth times, compare A's planets in B's houses and then the reverse direction. These are different projections.
Try: “Choose three topics A and B could discuss. For each, show the underlying contact and a neutral question for both people. Do not turn the score into a verdict on the relationship.”
A compatibility score is an internal symbolic summary, not a probability of a successful relationship. An external tool's quick synastry does not necessarily include every table on the website. For a public example, use clearly fictional data. More: synastry, Human Design.
5. Turn a moment into an artifact
- Begin with a result on a page that offers PNG: a sky event, a chart, a lunar snapshot or an oracle result.
- Before clicking, check the image mode, format, text and publication setting. Opening a fresh export can start generation immediately.
- Inspect the draft image and its source facts. Its additional Tarot, rune and I-Ching symbols form a separate symbolic signature; they do not replace the original reading.
- Open the artifact's horoscope to explore the available natal, transit, synastry and Human Design sections.
- Save what you want to keep before the draft's displayed expiry. Check visibility before saving or sharing, then reopen the saved object.
Two times matter: the source event has its own date; an artifact also has a birth moment and place. In the usual draft flow, its chart uses draft creation and the creator's current location settings. It need not be the event's astronomical peak or the person's birth moment.
Draft, permanent save, public listing and sending a link are different actions. Save and some Share actions can make the item permanent using your publication default. Check that setting explicitly; do not assume it is private. An unlisted/private item should not be treated as a confidential file vault: an image link can be accessible to its recipient. More: artifacts, PNG.
6. Revisit your collection
Choose a few existing objects in Artifacts. Read their sources before creating anything new. The original image, source and birth chart belong to the artifact; the personal comparison depends on the viewer's current personal context.
- The base score summarizes the artifact's event and symbolic factors. It is limited to 100.
- The personal effect adds factors such as transits to the person and the artifact, natal synastry, the lunar phase and supported Human Design links. It may exceed 100.
- The horoscope's selected date is used for its time-dependent score components. A collection card can show a cached/current value instead, so compare the date and breakdown before comparing totals.
Check the active profile before a personal comparison. After switching it, reopen the artifact details. If birth data or a calculation is missing, an absent component is not proof of “no connection”; drafts also omit the Human Design contribution to the personal score.
Try: “Explain which factors contribute to this artifact's personal effect for the selected person and date. Separate its fixed identity from what changes over time.”
Use the number as a doorway into the explanation, not as an objective measurement of an object's power. More: collection and scores.
7. Learn by comparing methods
Keep one moment, place and timezone fixed. Change just one assumption: the house system, a calendar method or an available ayanamsha. First record the numerical differences, then explain the methods, and only then compare symbolic readings.
Try: “Compare this same example with the two named methods. Separate calculation differences from interpretation. Explain which settings changed and which facts stayed the same.”
Some settings save immediately and affect later sessions. Prefer explicit parameters for a single calculation when available. For sensitive birth-time results, state the uncertainty. The Human Design design moment is found by an 88° solar arc, not by simply subtracting 88 days. More: accuracy, Human Design, glossary.
8. Use Dreamlens in your usual AI chat
Connect using Your AI agent (MCP). General calculations can be available without an account; saved personal context needs account authorization. Check the tools actually offered by your client rather than assuming the whole website has been transferred.
Ask for the relevant data and, if wanted, the persona or assembled interpretation guidance. Then ask your external model to explain one result or compare methods. Keep the person, moment, method and symbols in the conversation. Request a saved person by name when you want a lookup rather than an active-profile change.
The external client's model writes its answer. A calculation tool call does not by itself buy an extra narrative response from Dreamlens. The external client's pricing and limits still apply. Persona guidance can shape the discussion, but does not replace the external assistant's own rules or guarantee exact imitation. More: chat, personas for agents.
Settings and costs before generation
| Before doing this | Check this |
|---|---|
| Personal interpretation | Active person, birth data, current place and timezone |
| AI response | The model and reasoning level for that function, and Style polish |
| New PNG | Template or AI, quality, format, text length and names included |
| Save or Share | Publication default, personal data and recipient |
| Repeated experiment | Remaining limits and how many new generations you intend to request |
Chat, Insight, Vision and Images have separate settings. A cheaper Chat choice does not make the others cheaper. Most selectors save immediately; review the whole Models block after a change, especially if you have never explicitly chosen an image mode.
Template image rendering does not charge an AI image generator. However, preparing or shortening Insight text can use a text model; Style polish adds another model pass. AI image costs depend on the selected mode and quality. History, reasoning, tools and retries also affect text usage. There is no single fixed price for every PNG or answer.
For an economical first pass, use concise facts and a template mode. Choose an AI image only after settling the content and format. Downloading an existing image is different from asking for a fresh export, which can generate again. Use Usage and the limits in Settings → General; old credit tables or example dollar amounts are not your current balance or a guaranteed charge. More: settings, usage.
Three short demonstration ideas
- One moment, four calendar views: keep time and place visible, then show one lunar factor from each tradition. Explain each term when it appears.
- One symbol, two perspectives: use the same clearly labeled example card and question with Jung and Seneca. Compare the questions each perspective asks, keeping the original symbol unchanged.
- A moment becomes an artifact: show source → image → the artifact's chart → saved object. Use an existing public example or fictional inputs; distinguish the source event from the artifact's birth and explain what its score summarizes.
These are suggested journeys, not a claim that a single button performs every step. Availability depends on the page, account and connected client. If something differs, record the page, selected person/method/date and the visible message; avoid sending account secrets or another person's private data. Return to Help for the individual guides.
