Accuracy, Time, Place
Why does it matter?
Astrological calculations depend on exact time and place. The more accurate the data — the more accurate the result.
Time and Timezone
Why it matters
- Planet positions change every minute
- Moon travels ~12° per day (half a degree per hour!)
- For natal chart — exact time is critical for houses
- Human Design changes even by minutes
How to check
- Open /settings
- Check "Timezone"
- Compare with current local time
- If it doesn't match — select the correct zone
Place and Coordinates
Why it matters
- Houses depend on geographic latitude
- Ascendant shifts ~1° every 4 minutes
- Different cities = different chart
How to check
- Open /profile
- Verify birth place
- Use autocomplete for accurate coordinates
Data Sources
| Data | Source |
|---|---|
| Ephemeris | Real astronomical ephemerides (sub-arcsecond precision) |
| Timezones | IANA tz database |
| Coordinates | OpenStreetMap Nominatim |
Precision
- Planetary positions: ±1 arc second
- Moon: recalculated every hour
- Houses: depend on input data accuracy
House systems
Settings → General offers five systems: Placidus, Koch, Porphyry, Equal and Whole Sign. Placidus is the default. For a learning comparison, keep moment and place fixed and change only the system; name the chosen method when interpreting.
