What the four traditions offer
| Tradition | What to examine |
|---|---|
| Western | Phase, lunar day and sign; the day-count method and local moonrise affect boundaries |
| Jyotish | Tithi/paksha, nakshatra/pada, yoga and karana: distinct Panchanga factors |
| Chinese | Year-cycle labels and calendar factors, Xiù mansion and group |
| Arabic | Lunar mansion (manzil), its label and available symbolic description |
These are different ways of describing one moment, not four versions of the same day number. Fix time, place, timezone and method when comparing. The current snapshot and extended calendars serve different purposes. A calendar layer does not promise every Vedic natal technique or a complete Ba Zi system. Comparison journey.
